It's surprisingly flowery for a post-apocalyptic work, but otherwise readable enough. Also you should be pleased to learn that there are no women in this gay hermaphrodite reverse vampire psychic society. At least, not in this book. The author also has an annoying habit of making fanfiction canon, so there's also that shiny bit of fun to add to the series.

Really I just want it out of the house, and I'm opposed to book burning as a method of disposal. Besides, a book this bad can't be destroyed, only passed on to another.

I burnt two books once (they were a series), because I needed to purge them from my soul. Other people can own them, but I needed to destroy mine.

And no, I will not take your book,* go give it to the Salvation Army or something.

*though I am pleased to learn there are no women in it.**

**anyone ever play Rex Nebular and the Gender Bender? I loved that game.

I don't want it, but I am curious: what's the name of the book/author?

Honestly some stupid part of me is willing to volunteer to take them off your hands.

Also what in the world is a reverse vampire?

You know how vampires create more vampires by biting non-vampires? Reverse vampires only create more reverse vampires if they get bitten by a non-vampire. For me, it was the gay hermaphrodite bit that made me Image.

The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit, by Storm Constantine.

... "Storm" Thats more then enough to steer me clear. Somehow that doesn't actually categorize them enough as reverse to me unless they also need to Feed by someone else biting them and I just.. gah brain. Image

I thought a reverse vampire could only go out in the daylight. That's what the Simpsons taught me.

Do they also force you to drink their blood?

Honestly the whole concept of a reverse vampire just seems horribly wrong to me. They are either vampires, or they are something else entirely. A gaki is not a vampire, but its close enough most would call it such for instance. Just cause it wants to eat your blood doesn't mean its a goddess be blessed vampire.

fuckity I mean really, that twilight abomination for instance barely qualifies but is still sadly a vampire. A lame as all one, but a vampire. Plenty of vampire myths require that to become a vampire the mortal must drink the blood of the vampire, how is that suddenly reverse? Because the author is a pretty princess that calls herself storm and needs be Edgy with hers? Just.. geh

If you create a fantasy world, you get to pick the names of the things that live there. I could write a book in which humans have gills and tentacles.
That said, a stupid name just detracts from the story. Call it something else entirely so I don't cringe every time I read the name.

I once read a story with space vampires. This fucking scared me and I thought my family had been replaced by vampires.

Maybe buying a five year old a book with a dead guy on the cover was a bad move?

I think they were trying to shock you first, so that when you started to fear your parents you were monsters, they could make the fact that you were adopted appear comforting.

Monsters have stolen me from my real parents, how comforting.

Isn't that better then your parents are monsters who only had you so they could fit into society better and/or eat your young and tender flesh once they were done fattening you up?

Man it is great to live with a gullible 10 year old again, you would not believe the crap he believes us on.

True enough Smiley that its there story and they can call them what they want, I've read some great series where yes its obviously A, but their going to call it Lirin or some other made up name to keep them unique and special. Also to avoid any debate in the readers of "But a have pointier ears, or only eat fishsticks" or some such. I still think the idea of a reverse vampire is retarded and the author should be ridiculed for it appropriately.
