For a while now I've felt like on embarking on a journey of writing my own epic poem. However, I've been lost because I can't seem to come up with a storyline that captures my interest enough for me to write about it. So I've decided instead to consult y'all.

I hereby declare this space the place to post story ideas (just general outlines: a basic summary, or the seed of an idea). Hopefully, forumites will battle each other with the ideas, and after an unspecified period of time I will chose one to write on. The author of the chosen idea shall receive megapoints and credit, and they may be written into the poem if this is possible. I will post the poem on the forum, assuming it ever gets written.

Write about the return, ascension and downfall of local folk hero LR, as well as his replacement by the equally cruel yet just DR.

The life and times of a very awkward and unwilling messiah

The countdown to the apocalypse

A personification of a flame that is guiding someone somewhere and maybe eventually starts a forest fire or maybe it's like a candle near someone's deathbed.

The story of a mountain

An epic poem about roadkill or someone who collects it and also has delusions of grandeur

College

The story of twelve or 7 or whatever number you like of people competing to become gods and they each have their own special traits and whatnot.

The enlightening of an idiot society.

A child that was to save the earth dies.

The Space-slaves throw off their space-shackles.

The Electro Brothers strike again.

A young boy who sits on his father's lap and listens to him strum his mighty instrument, singing ballads so sad that they make big men weep

He see his fathers beautiful musicians fingers brutally destroyed, and his vocal cords ripped out and then killed to to death

He decides that he will not be a victim, he shall avenge his father's death, and becomes a great warrior by day, yet pays tribute to his father with ballads of pain anger by night (also ocassional warrioring cos there is no rest for the wicked)

Once he deems himself ready he sets forth on a grand crusade into uncharted lands, tracking the mysterious evil that killed the light inside his heart, finally chancing upon his enemy

Her kills him in the same manner as his father was, but with blood on his hands he realises he too is a monster

A Shakespearian (Shaquespeerean? w/e) Sonnet about a dozen of five point star cookies.

About an Inner-City disadvantaged child who dare to dream

About the opposite (A Rich Oil-Tycoon's Son who goes on a murderous rampage to finally "feel something")

If I can work in the Electro Brothers somehow, this will be tempting.

How math and poetry intersect in a poetry competition for students and high schoolers organized in schools on a monthly basis to writemyessay
Stephen Ornes wrote about math and poetry in his article: Can an Equation be a Poem? He also mentioned how mathematical forms are used in the Math Poetry Month via the mathematical language and constitutional bonds between words (grammar and semantics).
