I wish I still had the list of "favourite words" we took down when we had our linguistics social last month. We all sat in a circle and introduced ourselves and our favourite word. Someone opened by asking "what's the opposite of ambidextrous?"* and I said "amputee!" and people seemed to think that was pretty funny. Anyway there were some really good ones so hopefully I can still the list from the president. Or maybe we just left it in the mailbox, fuck if I know.

Even with the dictionary pronunciation guide I can't pronounce that

Also: Antidextrous. 'Two left hands' as a bad thing is considered discriminating, while 'no right hands' is more politically correct.

(One thing all left-handed people share is an excellent knowledge of famous sinister people. I like the word sinister, because it's discriminating, but oh so true.)
