Not really art, I just like taking pictures of bugs with my phone.

Ma'am, I believe you are on the wrong tree.

Caught a leaf in the throw net one night and found this little fella clinging to the underside with its specialised legs. I'd never seen anything like it before. It looks as if the four elongated legs are used to subtly propel the leaf around or else waft detritus toward the crab's mouth for consumption, or maybe because they're so long they're for reaching out and clinging to things. The other four shortened legs are used to cling to the underside of the leaf. The crab's claws are extremely short and probably useless for predation, so the crab is probably a filter feeder or detritivore. It's a male crab as evinced by the thin tail folded onto its underside.

Very pretty moth. I usually see much smaller subspecies of this moth, probably less than a 5th of the size of that one.

Native bees. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

Those are pretty cool. Do you reckon the crab's a native? I haven't seen or heard of that kind of species before, but I guess it's not surprising given that Darwin and Melbourne have completely different climates.

I googled it and found out that it's called a leaf porter crab. Adorable!

Pretty sure photography is a form of art.

Also very cool! I'm a big fan of bugs too.

This just reminds me that I have to go on a bug killing rampage tomorrow.
