What you are all missing here is that the law of contraposition is only valid when both premises are either positive or negative, to avoid inference from particulars to universals.

The derivation from the axiom "not part of the solution etc." is sound.
But either the original axiom is itself flawed or else adherents believe that laziness (ie doing nothing all day) contributes to every problem hence making the protagonist of this comic part of the problem and not, as he would hope, part of the solution.
