I wish more people thought like this.

Or less.

I'm not sure.

FUCK YEAH IT IS. Why? I mean, I'm just beginning. I know some theory, but only from the game maker I dicked around in, and the tools were customized and not transferable to most design languages. Alas, let's continue this discussion in the relevant thread though, as it would be easier to keep track of such a relevant thing.

The experiment has failed.

Unless it hasn't. It has failed in that the quality of poster is awful, they don't even come back to read the horrible things we say about them or at least they don't reply. I don't need to read that Kaghi4 thought that November 12th's comic was "hella funny" and that zach is "really cool bro". I don't need people inferring with their genius minds that I am new and should relax. The experiment has failed.

Unless it hasn't. It perhaps hasn't failed if you wanted to make it clear to everyone that zach's current fans are the fucking worst* and that there isn't enough to talk about each comic in turn. So as an experiment it has succeeded because the results are clear and unambiguous. Comic Discussion 3.0 is a leviathan of shit and now we must decided what to do with it.

*I of course use this term as a rhetorical device, xkcd fans are the fucking worst but I suspect there is a lot of overlap between the current crop of both comics.

But it provides me with so much entertainment and opportunity for mockery...
Like the zoo!
Hahah, those damn giraffes. So dumb with their dopey faces and long blue tongues.

Maybe we should just go back to allow the non-registered fanboys to do whatever they like in New Outlandia, and let them take part in the more civilised parts of the forum when they grow up and register. These comments are basically spam anyway, they'll feel right at home with the now quiet spambots.

This was in fact my hypothesis, but even as jaded as I was half a year ago I could not have expected results this clear. Give me a couple of days and I'll collate them into a nice graph form or go mad from quantifying.

I think you would be hard pressed to find any open forum on the internet that does not contain a high degree of idiocy and assholery. I don't think the poor quality is a function of the people being SMBC fans, I think it is a function of the fact that they are on the internet. Compared to YouTube comments or something of the like, this forum is practically a beacon of enlightenment. I'm not defending the openness of this forum and the one thread a comic format. I think it is a bad idea and would like to go back to the way it was.

It shines brilliantly like a new dawn across the waters of ignorance and idiocy. ZING!

Question: Who (of the regulars) actually read all these posts?

Well, I read just about every new post on this forum. When it comes to the LCD board "read" will often mean "casually scroll down" but I'm pretty sure I read posts in this thread.
