There's at least one scene that could easily devolve into gay porn, except nothing that good ever happens in those movies. Also I think they'd both be happier without fragile its all about me bella.

My sisters made me read the Twilight books. They were pretty boring and very poorly written, filled with annoying characters. They were also a lot longer than they needed to be, full of fluff and no substance. Especially the one where Bella is all angsty because Edward's gone.
Quite a bit later I realized that a large number of people were rabid over the whole franchise, and that confused me.
I actually did sit through the first movie, in RiffTrax form. (If you don't know, it's the guys who did MST3K. They now release audio tracks to play along with movies so they don't have to buy the rights. Totally awesome!) But even with the RiffTrax, the movie was painfully awkward and boring, especially toward the end. It felt like it just kept going forever..

I do like vampires (I have ever since I was a little kid), so I thought the concept of rock-like vampires was kind of interesting. But sparkling is not a reason to stick to the shadows... Have these idiots never thought of putting makeup on so the light doesn't shine off of their skin?

Makeup would solve a lot of vampire problems: bursting into flames, not showing up in mirrors, looking like a corpse, for a few.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

I thought the angst was because they were all cursed to be perpetually have the minds of teenagers.

Well then they aren't angst over that, they're just angsting because they're teenagers. Which you may have been suggesting, but I wanted to make it clear which we we're never discussing, but are now discussing.

I wouldn't even want the body of a teenager for immortality (yet alone the mind set). Somewhere around 22-25 would be nice. Come back my prime!

Well yes, but the angst is compunded perpetually. PERPETUALLY.

I think I'm finally starting to feel for those characters now.

I actually need to stop dissing the Twilight saga, at least until I read it. The problem with that being I refuse to buy them, I don't want to be seen checking 'em out from the library, and none of my friends will let me borrow them (I think they're afraid of my pyromaniac tendencies). But REALLY? Sparkly vampires!?!?. Ick

You should grab the uncatalogued copy, so when it's signed out it goes under your account as GENERIC TEEN FICTION.

Heh. Library humour.

The problem is more that I live in a town of not quite five thousand people. Life sucks.

Honestly I would never live outside of a city. I am a city boy and I am not ashamed of it. One of my friends went to some small town in Ontario to take some photos and they threw garbage at her. Because she's vietnamese. Totally insane.

(not casting judgement on you just 'cause you live in a small town, though)

No, I am in total agreement, I moved here from Vancouver when I was twelve. I hate it, but I don't have the job skills to start from scratch in a city. Mom loves it here, but I'm not as willing to be friends with people who would turn me away if I was more obviously Indian, or Islamic, or gay. Also, everyone likes the Black Eyed Peas here.

Do what I did - download them. Reading off a screen is a small price to pay for not having to shell out actual money, some of which will make it into the hands of Stephanie Meyer.
