Vonnegut

I'm disgusted there isn't a topic stickied to the top of this forum about him yet.

I've read Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse-Five, and they're 1st and 2nd place for my favorite books ever. Vonnegut himself has also said that they are his two best works, so if you've never read him before, start with these.

I've also a few of his short stories, but ironically, didn't care much for them.

What do you all think of Mr. Vonnegut?

I really need to get around to reading his stuff. I really like all the quotes he has and my dad has highly recommended him.

We don't unnecessarily sticky things. Especially since this topic is very specialized and unless it gets derailed it won't get a lot of posts.

Thought it is nice to see you post more, Davoid.

Heh, I was only kidding about having this stickied. I only meant that he is so great that he deserves to be forever at the top of the forum.

And thanks! I'll try to be sure to stay active, but if I ever lapse, just ask Edminister about how to "summon" me back.

Man, this Edminister guy sure is popular. He should really join up one of these days.

I just wish he'd post more often, instead of just plugging his lame website.

Yeah, but if he does, Edminster will hunt him down and turn him into an amusing hat.

Vonnegut is definitely someone I've been wanting to read. Especially after Mark Oliver Everett's autobio was likened to his stuff.

Vonnegut is on my list of books I want to eventually read. But it's a very long list, it might take me a while to get to him.

As well as Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse 5, Breakfast of Champions and Sirens of Titan are worth reading. 8)

I'll definitely check those out. I did a bit of research (not enough to ruin anything for myself plot-wise) and I think I'll start with Sirens of Titan if I can find a copy.

Vonnegut is brilliant; I haven't read a single thing of his I haven't liked, and I still have a bit to go.

Ah yes I've read that one. Depressing, but very good all the same.

Hey davoid if you still haven't read it I'll see if I can track down my copy and send it to you.

Alrighty, Vonnegut is next on my list. Going to the bookstore today, likely, and I will see what I can get.
