Got a Lovecraft short story collection a few years ago. I liked them a lot at first, but eventually the unceasing racism made me too uncomfortable and I had to put them down. Maybe if primitive ape-men weren't the monsters in so many of them, I could have enjoyed them more. He knew what scared his audience at the time, I'll give him that.

I left them before I got to Call of Cthulhu, which is the story I bought the collection for.
