That's right, we're putting a little spin on things. This is for talking ABOUT poetry. Anyone big into poetry? I've mentioned this a couple of times but I'm a big fan of James Tate (if you have read something similar, this is your cue to mention it to me).

I actually thought of posting this (I figure at least one of these topics will be interesting) because I noticed a display at work for Dionne Brand, who was just named Poet Laureate of Toronto. I haven't read her poetry but I read What We All Long For in high school and it was genuinely a terrible book. And I sometimes worry that people think that that's because she's a black lesbian but it's really not. As with reading anything for a class all of its particular faults stand out, but I doubt I could have ignored them anyway. This is why there is no interest in Canadian writing. I kind of want to take a look at it because she might be an okay poet but then again it was just infuriating reading her novel.

There we go. Fix'd, and in a rather festive manner. Really everyone was posting and talking about poetry in the other thread and no one was all that bothered by it, you don't have to take a piss if you're not interested.

Anyways, I can actually get extra credit for memorizing plays that we have done in my english class. I will get on that pronto!

I know you're just joking around, I'm just totally against those one-word meaningless replies. I'd rather hear nothing at all and just let the thread die.
