Has anyone read Rachel Carson's books? What are your opinions on them?

I read Silent Spring and enjoyed it quite a lot, but now I'm reading her Oceans trilogy and am having a lot of trouble getting through it. I've read about half of Under the Sea-Wind and have been struggling. My problem is that it reads like a nature documentary, which for me is soothing, relaxing, and somewhat educational in film form, but sleep-inducing (not in a good way) in a book. (o~o)

Any thoughts?

No thoughts. No idea what your talking about, but the thread looked lonely without replies.

I read some excerpts of Silent Spring in an environmental science class I took a few years ago. Crazy stuff.

Silent Spring was wonderful for its time, but it unfortunately shadowed her best work as a writer, imo (the trilogy you're reading). It hits its peak at the second book, so I hope you make it!

I have read "The Edge of the Sea". It is really awesome. I totally recommend it. By the way, you may read the review to her books at professional writing service, so you will have the general picture of the book.

Seriously, nobody is allowed to argue that the registration captcha is too difficult anymore. This is ridiculous.
