Re: The Forum RPG!
I think the general idea is go for a concept, 'you know the guy who does the stuff'. Zombie hunter, Cult Priest, Investigative reporter who's just 1d100 from insanity... Sounds like its really anything goes so just run with it. He did sort of request a robot...

Just choose something utterly random and twist it to your vile purposes, like I did.Lethal Interjection wrote:I'm kind of new to this type stuff. I'm not much of an RPGer. Some suggestions would be appreciated, or a list of some types of classes, and I'll go from there.
Also, Ahmet: Big images aren't necessarily frowned upon, just if they are in your signature.
It all depends what you want to bring to the group, do you want to be magical, brutish, sneaky, hideously ugly?
EDIT: read asherian's post

Fair enough. I'll give it some thought and figure something out tomorrow. I didn't think it was terribly serious, but I do want to fit in with the flow. I want something ridiculous, but not ludicrous.

A cannibalistic pagan priest then.
Cause we all know that spirituality matters. And that way i don't actually have to carry food.
And with some luck, i could eat the fallen amongst us.
If that's cool, i mean.

I'm not really planning on leaving enough of a corpse to be food if I go down.. So sure! Go for it!
Who doesn't love priest who believes burial should involve 7 secret herbs and spices?

Re: The Forum RPG!
A fine suggestion, to be sure, but I thought of something that would satisfy the desire for a robot.
Robot Necromancer. Able to summon up a zombie-like horde from defunct machinery and electronics.

Woot! That is an Awesome concept. Techno-mancy gone creepy. And solidly placing us in an era or 2 instead of 'any'. Now to draw me up a horrible cyber-punk "Opener" *cackles*

Re: The Forum RPG!
Damn! Wish I had known about this, as I would have gone with my favourite character that I have ever played.
Good ol' Doc Donovan, with his faithful St. Bernard named Malachi. A kind country doctor, who seems to have a youthful exuberance despite his wizened countenance. Always thirsting for knowledge, you can find him traveling the world, helping tend the sick wherever they are found. Oddly enough, nobody seems to have ever known him growing up. He's always been where people need him, whether that is in the midst of a plague, during a robot uprising, or even setting broken bones during a fight to the death. This has led people to believe that he has the blessing of some Higher Power, because nobody can go through a life like that unscathed.
He's from a Second Edition AD&D game that I played a few months back, and is absolutely incredible to play. Especially since he's technically a necromancer.
Also, Asherian? We shall devour your Corpse God as we devour everything, for we are the Swarm. Yay Tyranids!

Re: The Forum RPG!
Er... hi. New to the forums, but was wondering if I could join you guys? I have a character in mind. Is there still room?
If there _is_ room, here is my character: a silent movie villain, complete with cape, top hat, twirlable mustache, and monocle! Whenever we encounter enemies, I join them in battle, but cast silence, rendering their magic users helpless for you to devour/defeat! Whichever floats your boat.

Three men walk into a bar. The third man ducks.

Re: The Forum RPG!
Royal approaches dinnsdale, with his right arm outstretched in greeting. Once he is within 3 arm lengths near him, he pulls out his two scimmitars and leaps forward. Royal's blades pierce dinnsdale's heart, which was the size of a raisin.

Re: The Forum RPG!
wow, dinnsdale and Edminster have pretty cool character ideas (although Edminster, you get demerits for reusing something you've done before... SHAME!). It looks like with Cirtur there are at least 3 people who are interested in playing that didn't get into my game. I'll see if TwoBuy wants to run a second quest - it isn't like he works or anything so it should probably be fine.
