Pretty sure that qualifies as impatience. I'm gonna wait until TwoBuy officially starts the game.

Day 138:

Troop morale is low...Twobuy hasn't been seen for awhile. We have been forced to get our own means of living, I had to eat Oldrac just to stay alive. I wonder who will the next one to be eaten rather frequently. I have my eye on Cirtur, but he is all the way across the cave...

Star Date, January 15th:
We've gotten to our first fight, but so far we don't know the results of the first round of attacking. Some wonder if we will ever get exp, or if we'll find out what the naked slaves know.

No, I won't. That's why I am 2nd in post count. If you want non-stop sex, you better get to work!

Definitely impatience. I saw Oldrac's post and thought it would be an interesting 'Day in the life' exercise, so I responded in kind. Kinda hoping that everyone else would do one, so we can understand each other better when TwoBuy starts this thing up.

Hmmm, guess I'll do one. But I'm not using no fancy pants italics.

On second thought I'll do it later. I'm feeling exceptionally lazy right now.

Fixerman stood up and shot the housewife a winning look, "Aaalright, should be working just fine now Miss." The woman giggled and blushed at being called 'Miss' and reached into her purse to pay him. Fixerman stuffed the crisp bank notes into his shirt pocket and walked out of the house whistling to himself a jaunty little tune, twirling a spanner around his finger. Behind him, he heard the slow ticking of a broken boiler.

* * *
The dark figure stumbled, knocking over a lamp as he fled Fixerman's cluttered one bedroom flat. Fixerman's face set in grim determination, and as he dashed after the thief, he pulled from his toolbelt a hammer which, defying all known logic and physics, grew in size as he drew it. He made a leap for the fleeing thief and landed on his back, crying out to the world at large "I...Will...Fix you!"

I was hoping you were going to quote the Coldplay song there, but you didn't. Way to shatter my my dreams, man.

All right, then. Past tense it is.

Sprague stood up, looked at his watch, then scanned the parking lot again. His Accord was still the only car. One shed, four canoes, two nature trails, road leading to the lake, patch of mushrooms. Purple Russula. He sighed, and settled down on the hood of his car. His contact had warned him that he might run a little late this morning, but Sprague had been waiting here for almost three hours now. The park would be opening soon. Then it'd be full of campers, and whatever privacy the man had hoped to gain by holding the meeting at night would be wasted.
A dog barked somewhere nearby, and Sprague started back to his feet. He could see it coming towards him down the lake road. It was a big Saint Bernard, its fur was wet, and it was wearing a silver dog tag. When it reached the edge of the parking lot, it stopped and barked again, looking directly at Sprague. Sprague took a step forward, and the dog turned around and ran back the way it came. Sprague looked over his shoulder at the highway for any sign of his informant, and satisfied that there was none, loped after the animal.
The dog led Sprague all the way to the lake, and then turned off the road into a reedy ditch that ran parallel to it. There were two men in the ditch; one was kneeling over the other, who was lying still. Both were covered in blood.
"Well," Sprague said, producing a pack of cigarettes from his coat. "Isn't this incriminating."

See what I did there?

He's finishing the knot on the final stitch when he hears the voice.
"Well," it says, in a condescending tone: "Isn't this incriminating."
Donovan takes in the scene, already knowing how bad it looks. Unconscious guy with fresh bruises, stitches, and splints, covered in blood. Surgical tools, also covered in blood. Small pile of bloody semi-essential organs arranged neatly on a piece of plastic. Half-empty bottle of grain alcohol (complete with bloody handprints). Not good. He looks up at the accusing voice, trying desperately to figure out how to explain.
"Looks like something wielding oversized hammers did the damage. It was probably a Canadian Panther, not me. I'm just trying to make sure he lives. So, if you would please refrain from passing judgement, and help me fashion a litter out of some branches or something so we can get him out of here, we can all have a much nicer evening."

The newcomer steps down into the ditch, and kneels down to get a closer look at the injured man. His face is still obscured, but he's close enough now to make out a name on the badge he's wearing: Sprague. No first name, no rank, no insignia to say who issued the badge.
"Mmm. He
is alive, at that. All right, guy, we'll play it your way. I'll get you your litter, you'll get me some ID, and we'll all three of us get somewhere in range of a cell tower. And then we're going to have a nice chat about Canadian Panthers."
He gets back to his feet, looks briefly around the area, and shuffles off toward the beach. There's a sturdy-looking volleyball net set up there, supported by wooden posts. He uproots these, breaks them in half, and weaves the halves he's broken off through the net. The result could probably pass for a strecher, if you didn't look too closely. Then he hauls the contrivance back to the ditch where the two men are waiting.
"Well?"

So, I guess starting out before dawn in a park miles away from civilization probably isn't the best way to get a party together quickly. Mea culpa.

(Oldrac, we must have some wires crossed. I thought it was late evening, and that we were near the Baseball Diamond at the University of Washington Sport Medical center on the curvy road near the water. Click 'satellite view' and zoom in a bit to see where I mean. Also yes, I put far too much thought into this.)
