I searched, and amazingly didn't find another thread like this. If I missed it, please delete this one.

Anyway, the concept is pretty simple. Today is Z-Day. You wake up to media broadcasts of mass mayhem caused by Dawn of The Dead-esque running zombies (as opposed to Resident Evil style slowly lurching forward zombies). You must choose a place to go, mode of transportation, plan when you get there, and where to get food and weapons. The rest should pretty much write itself.

As for me, I pick up any friends who aren't dead/undead in my truck. My neighbors own a gun shop, so I'd either raid their house if they're dead already, or go to their shop that isn't too far away. I don't know much about firearms, so I'd probably just grab a dickload of different guns and as much ammo as I can fit into the back of my truck. I'd then haul ass to Publix and loot it for non-perishables. My old middle school is very near Publix, and is entirely self-contained. That is to say, it's all in one building, with no need to go outside to move throughout the school. It has locker rooms with showers, multiple bathrooms, a library with couches, and a huge kitchen/cafeteria area. From there, I guess I'd just wait for rescue.

Shoot you. Take guns.

I lock myself in my room and eagerly await my new zombie overlords. Also, I call friends and family to say goodbye in case I get munched on by a zombie.

I would probably hit the military base down the road up for a nice Robar and enough .50 cal ammo to choke several large donkeys, find an apartment building close by, demolish the 1st floor stairs and park my ass on a balcony. From there I would snipe anything that moved, including the birds (cuz you know those things ALWAYS carry the zombie disease) As to the food situation, I would guess I would have to find the answer to the question that keeps me up at night.. If you cook zombie flesh enough, will you still get zombied by eating it?

Actually, if anyone thinks they could answer that, i would appreciate the sleep.

Zombie's do not have blood flow, therefore the disease is probably like mad cow disease and UNSAFE to eat no matter how much it is killed. Sorry to disappoint.

I once took an online quiz (yes i was that bored) that told me in the event of a Z-Day I will survive. I'd be kinda screwed because i don't own a gun, nor do i know of any place that sells them. Other than that i have a nice little setup here. # grocery stores within a 2 block radius, a Future Shop I'd loot so I will be amused as I lock myself in my apartment etc.

In reality I'd probably kill myself, especially if I can get my hands on a gun. Bullet to the head better than being eaten alive or starving slowly.

But how do you know they don't have blood flow, and how could they survive for more than a few minutes without blood flow?

How can dead people become zombies? The whole idea is scientifically unsound.

Sorry, I forgot about all the nanotechnology we have lying around.

We know zombies don't have blood flow because their hearts don't beat. They still have blood but they're animated solely by the virus, or whatever.

Old fashioned dead zombies are one of the horror tropes that are really difficult to reconcile with Science.

Science personified just doesn't like them.

To be fair, the personification of Science also dislikes it when Science is anthropomorphised, so you have to take what he says with a grain of Nackle.
