Re: New People
Greetings. I am new! At least, insofar as new can be achieved.
By some metrics, I exist, though I may or may not be a person.

Great, now people on the internet aren't even sure if they are bots.

Re: New People
It almost makes me feel like there's a girl on the forum. But we all know there are no girls on the internet.

Wait, you mean to tell me there really aren't hot single women in my area waiting to chat with me?

Whew - I've been working up my courage to give them my credit card details for a while now.

Hi physicist girl, I'm a computer science girl. But as we know computer science isn't actually science, we just call it that way to feel better about it.

Re: New People
Nah, the social scientists at least do some sciencing, like, they have a hypothesis, they either do some tests with people or they collect data from the society, then they see if their hypothesis is right within some probability range. In computer science? No sciencing at all. Some math (for cryptography/cryptology, computer graphics/computer vision etc., proving stuff in theoretical computer science), but no sciencing.Kaharz wrote:At least you aren't a social scientist, those people are total frauds, amIright?

Re: New People
Social "sciences" are at least a cute "hobby", I suppose, but their results aren't verifiable enough to be considered a true science.
