Re: New People
It is I! the young and impressionable saussure! i have come to this planet to live a mildly fulfilling life, and will not leave until i do so!
Why, you ask?
Because i'm born to be miiiiiiiiiiilllllld
*Mediocre guitar solo*
anyway, i am mostly interested in trivia, stories, storytelling and language (Because, as you may have noticed from my presence here, i am one of yours, a nerd with the heart of another nerd inside me (sautéed au beurre salé with eggplant and basil linguine, to be precise (basil's liver was in the linguine)))
Anyway, i hope i can have a good time here, with all of you people, i'm sure i'll have some good wholesome fun
*gilligan cut of me 6 seconds later, crying as my room is engulfed in fire, a teddy bear and a jar of peanut butter next to me as i die. in pain. Atrocious pain. Oh god. The pain. aaaaaaaaaaah

You put a lot of effort into that, so I'll try to return the favour:

Did this happen before or after the mediocre guitar solo? As the father of semiotics, surely you'd be aware of the humble asterisk as being the near-universal signification of footnotery.Saussure wrote:*gilligan cut of me 6 seconds later,

Re: New People
Hello, I'm Schaaschaa. I mostly created this account for making a probably hellishly annoyingly pedantic comment and am terribly sorry for that. I'll probably wind up making some more and I hope that will alleviate the situation somewhat. English is not my first language, as you might have noticed, so please don't grill me to much for any mistakes.
I'm 30, from Germany and crazy enough to at some point have read the whole archive. I'm not nerdy enough to get every joke though, which constantly makes me sad.
So that's what comes to mind at the moment. Have a nice day. Week. Life. Whatever.

Re: New People
Watcha fellow SMBC enthusiasts.
I'm new to forums in general, and hoping that the large post-a-reply button was the right one to press.
I'm an SMBC and xkcd enthusiast, as far as I'm concerned SMBC is funnier these days.
I'm a long time reader and have gone through all of SMBC at least 3 times, and while I doubt it's an achievement in this community, I am nonetheless proud of my abject procrastination abilities...
Which leads to me to how I got here, probably procrastination.
I'm a final year Electronic Engineering student in South Africa (this feels remarkably like a Tinder bio).
No I don't have that many more identifying traits, which is why I cling to this one.
I guess I hope this is cool community in an age where we no longer villages and don't have that need fulfilled so easily anymore.
