[2012-Dec-14] Simulation limits.
Yay, Comic!
Personally, I'd just program it so it leads a charmed existence for me, wipe my memory, and when I die, reincarnate me. Happiness forever~!
I mean, it's not like we care about every Sim is it? Heck, most people I know Abuse their Sims. >.>
(Related note: Should we be pushing for programming a afterlife for Sim games? If we think we're in such a universe?)
Alternatively: God tries to look after universe. God pauses said universe to correct mistakes. (If he even can!). More people = more mistakes. Eventually, God just gives up, and goes to play Sims.

Re: [2012-December-14] Simulation limits.
I think that if we lived in a simulation, the being that created it wouldn't even know we are here. They wouldn't have created such an incredibly large universe if they just wanted human civilizations to torture.
Re: [2012-December-14] Simulation limits.
I know this was probably ignored on purpose for the sake of the joke, but ...
Isn't it more likely that, if we're in a simulated universe, it was created by a team of scientists as a simulation to test various hypotheses, rather than by a single narcissistic entity as an act of escapism?

Re: [2012-December-14] Simulation limits.
I think that depends on the level of technology, specifically computing and virtual reality based, of the universe that the simulation was created by. If it's fairly cutting edge, then it almost has to be scientists. If it's more of a house-hold thing because of how easy it is for them to do, not so much. Universe Simulations are sort of the logical, if majorly difficult to pull off, extreme of games like The Sims anyways.Oz wrote:I know this was probably ignored on purpose for the sake of the joke, but ...

No. If we are assuming such technology exists in the first place, why not also assume it's been made commonplace? Hypotheticals aren't constrained by time or scarcity.Oz wrote:I know this was probably ignored on purpose for the sake of the joke, but ...

This is an interesting idea, the simulation is still based on technology but dordle I believe in the future

This site was fantastic; I'd never seen such a fantastic blog before. I'm going to tell my buddies about this earn to die.
