Stick up for yourself.

Do you do it?

Do you call people on it when they're not being nice/good/treating you right/respecting you?
If we weren't such good friends, I'd wish you were dead.

Usually, unless it's my dad. He scares me.

I'd also like to think that I'd stick up for a friend if it ever came down to fisticuffs, but as that has never happened I can't be sure.

Anytime I hear fisticuffs, I now immediately think of Anchorman.

"I have Tom O'Leary and Jack Johnson right here!"

Oh yeah and I stick up for myself depending on what exactly the deal is.

Oh yes. This one time a woman had the audacity to think I walked into a sex shop and bought a pair of handcuffs for the bedroom. It was a prop for a history play we were doing about the white rose movement in nazi germany, I told her. I then spent a half hour explaining why she was a whore for revealing her eyes in public.

Bah, I don't need to stand up for myself. Most of the time, when people insult me, I'm able to shoot back kindly with my wit, and they end up being a friend. Yeah. That hasn't happened here. I think the internet is immune to my awesome intellect and kingly good looks.

Like love and god?
Yeah, I'll admit I'm not trying. You guys are fairly smart, so I'm not trying as much. The fact that you folks will understand any intelligible sentence I spew is refreshing.

Unfortunately, your intelligible sentences are far outshadowed by your gibberish.

People don't like to disrespect me, so all it takes is one good look to get them to back off.

I'm pretty unobtrusive so I can't remember the last time I've been openly disrespected or insulted. If it does happen I usually just try to play it off and ignore it. I've never gotten into a fight before and I'd like to keep it that way.

Yeah, I do. I don't know where you'd get that from, though. Most people just think "he looks and sounds crazy and he's rippling with what might be muscle."

Hmm, I normally stick up for myself, but I do it in a way that makes the other person feel stupid for having said/done whatever they said/did to me. I'm a very practiced smartass in RL, and it is extremely entertaining. I tend to lean towards verbal retaliation/abuse over physical, as I'm ... well, I'm a twig. Normal height, but damn I look like I'd blow away in the wind.

It has never really come up for me. As someone noted in another thread, I look like a criminal. Also I tend to get lost in thought, and when I do, I get this really horrible I-am-fantasizing-about-eating-your-spleen* look on my face. People at work and on the streets tend to give me a wide berth. This is why I like the forums, you guys don't think I am going to do something horrible to you while I think about what you said.

Also this thread make me think I know where I think I know LR from**. While I was in Toronto last summer, someone who looked just like him was staring at me quite intensely, and I do believe it was him. I do not remember where it was, or what I had done to earn such a stare. I was most likely lost in thought and that was his way of protecting his internal organs from harm.

*As described to me by my wife and several co-workers
