I feel noob and n00b are two different things.

noob/newb=inexperienced, but seems intelligent.
n00b=jumped in and is making an asshat of themselves.

I'm one of those who further splits noob and n00b.

A newb is one who is new and trying to be a good netizen.
A noob is one who is new and stumbling along but can become a good netizen.
A n00b is one who speaks in Leet and is unsalvageable.

What about further groupings such as newbies? New innocent and with that still adorable shine, like new car smell before being left broken shells of individuals?
