There is a chair and the chair walk, with the shoes. Lala lala lala la. The chair is walking.Guest wrote:That is not a joke.
You can't just have two characters relating facts, even fictional made up facts, and call it a joke. Yes, you could make a joke with that concept, but the delivery of the dialogue is so far from being fashioned in anyway proximate to any acceptable form of what could be called a "joke," that it simply can't qualify. I'll assume that's why you posted it in mockery. Regardless, I weep for the sad sack who wrote that actually believing it to qualify as a joke.
Re: [2014-1-21] Wherein Zach steals jokes from other comics
That's utter nonsense and it's still a far better joke than what I was referring to.

Good forum poster: hey I like jokes, I am one of the many people who enjoys a good 'joke'
Bad forum poster: ALL JOKES ARE CLONES, EXCEPT ONLY ZACH'S. ALSO, ALL OPINIONS ARE BAD, EXCEPT MINE, WHICH ARE GOOD
Dada forum poster: HOW LONG COULD YOU LIVE WITHOUT TREES
Bad forum poster: Have you guys seen these links? Also, my opinions?

Maybe this is off topic, but looks like another comic just stole from Zach:

They did, yeah.
Also it interesting that, despite the claim at the end, the comic does not reference The Violinist (it does have a violinist), unlike Zach's comic, which actually does (but ironically, he's a baker, not a violinist.) Implying they don't even understand the joke they stole.

dinosaur comics also made a joke about the trolley problem like last week
someone call the joke police
someone call the joke police
Re: [2014-1-21] Wherein Zach steals jokes from other comics
The joke is not exactly the same. It differs a bit in the punchline area. That said, the setup is similar enough that you could reasonably assume copying. The dinosaur comics joke isn't really close at all. It's just a separate trolley problem joke. At most you could say Ryan got the idea of doing a trolley problem comic from Zach's, which probably isn't even true.

Hi, guys. Guest here. In the way of an anonymous reporter, I'd like to ask a facetious question that is actually making a point. Since this is not a 100% serious forum, I expect to get multiple "no" answers.
Isn't it possible that multiple people, whose job it is to think of funny things, who tend to focus on satirizing society in one way or another, and who are seem to be part of said society's hip intelligentsia—think similar hot topics are funny and thus write comics about them?
