Sports Depressed
So, last night after the 11 inning thriller in the World Series that the Rangers lost, I was extremely sports depressed, just because of all the hype and the numerous heart attacks and/or strokes I had during the course of the game, for it to end like that.
So, anybody else have some good 'ole sports depression to share?

Watching other people play and not participating depresses me.

My roommate stays up until midnight watching hockey, then stays up till 1:30 streaming TV shows. I have to get up at 8:00 for class. Getting six hours and a half of sleep each night during the week is my sports-depression.

Canadian football is incredibly depressing.

Re: Sports Depressed
Saw Sri Lanka make their way to the cricket World Cup final earlier this year, only to lose quite dispiritingly in the end to India. The match started badly for the Sri Lankans, but a fluent and well-planned performance from one of our master batsmen saw the Sri Lankans put up what looked like a decent score. Then two of India's more legendary batsmen were dismissed quite cheaply at the start of their innings, so spirits were high at that point. After that, a youngster who had just started his international career teamed up with India's captain, who had until then had failed to make an individual impact in the tournament, and they both calmly and comfortably cruised India to victory in an enthusiasm-sapping and inevitable manner.
The disappointing late night was made worse by the fact that earlier that morning I had found a certain mentally troubled girl, whom most of you on this forum have seen me write about and no doubt sick of hearing about, crying in a corner and had been comforting her. By the end I had convinced her to finally talk to me openly about what had been happening in her life. I was pleased she was finally willing to talk to me after more than a year of avoiding me like the plague, but had to cut the conversation short because I had somewhere to be, and couldn't resume the conversation with her later that night because my family and I were leaving to watch the game at my uncle's place. When I woke up around mid-day the next day feeling groggy and a little disappointed with the previous day, she had convinced herself in that time that she needed to face whatever she was going through alone, and so continued to avoid me like the plague from then on, and that brief window was gone.

Re: Sports Depressed
My A-League team is like undefeated for three seasons or something now. I almost wish I had the money to go to the games or get pay tv and watch them. Instead I just watch facebook posts and smile when I see double hat tricks mentioned.
Football everywhere is scoring more goals too, which is nice. Even the EPL which is generally pretty dull unless you have an unhealthy obsession with it, like most Brits.
I do get depressed when I realise I'll never make it as a pro in any sport I love though, damn.
