Steppenwolf wrote:...it had been just one of those days which for a long while now had fallen to my lot; the moderately pleasant, the wholly bearable and tolerable, lukewarm days of a discontented middle-aged man; days without special pains, without special cares, without particular worry, without dispair... there is much to be said for contentment and painlessness, for those bearable and submissive days, on which neither pain nor pleasure cry out, on which everything only whispers and tiptoes around. But the worst of it is that it is just this contentment that I cannot endure. After a short time is fills me with irrepressible loathing and nausea...

Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away
Sounds like rape to me! Great song, by the way.

I never cared for Steppenwolfe. I don't like Magic Carpet Ride, and have even more detest for Born To Be Wild.
So when I found out the Pusher was their song as well, I was quite surprised. I mean, the sound is very different. I would've never figured it was their song.
So I like at least one of their songs.
I have heard this song before, the so called classic rock station plays it whenever they remember they're supposed to play something that came out before 2008 every once in a while. I guess I just never bothered listening to the lyrics before, or find out who sings it. The only opinion I've ever really been able to muster about it however is, at least it's not Nickelback.*
*I guarantee, you turn that station on at any given there is a 62% chance** that that annoying I want to be a Rockstar song of Nickelback's will be playing. At first I found it ironic that a song about being a rock star would sound so much like country music. Now I just find it annoying.
**True fact 58% of all statistics are made up on the spot
